Taylor C. Berger

Taylor C. Berger joined the firm in January 2009. His primary areas of practice are estate planning, tax controversy, and probate/trust administration and litigation. Mr. Berger received a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation from the University of Washington in 2008. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Memphis, where he was associate editor of the Law Review and received the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Legal Method. During law school, Mr. Berger served as law clerk to Hon. Robert S. Benham of Shelby County Probate Court. Mr. Berger earned his Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology/Sociology from Rhodes College in 2002. A lifelong Memphian, Mr. Berger is passionate about service and improving the city. He is the founding Director of the Memphis Area Legal Services Low Income Taxpayer Clinic, a federal grant funded project that provides legal representation to the city’s working poor who are involved in tax controversies before the Internal Revenue Service and United States Tax Court. Mr. Berger is a member of the 2009 Leadership Forum class of the Memphis Bar Association, and is a member of Idlewild Presbyterian Church. Mr. Berger is a member of the American Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Association, and the Memphis Bar Association, and is admitted to practice in Tennessee, Mississippi, and the United States Tax Court.
